Assembly (SMT and conventional)

Depending on your requirements, STEHA-Elektronik offers both SMT or conventional THT assembly for your product series, no matter if for prototypes, smaller or larger volumes. Board assembly requires utmost precision, which we deliver with modern machines as well as qualified and experienced employees. Using an AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) system, rare defects in assembly can be discovered even before formal quality testing.

SMT Assembly


SMD assembly (also SMT assembly, SMD/T = Surface Mounted Devices/Technology) is a technology where components are placed directly on boards, without holes for each pin. These special components have connectors that are subsequently soldered using specialized equipment and a technique called Reflow Soldering. SMT assembly and Reflow Soldering is the state of the art method of board assembly, and ensures high compactness and robustness of your products.

Conventional or THT assembly


With THT assembly (Through-Hole-Technology), the components are manually placed into corresponding holes on the board. After that, they are soldered by hand or in a wave soldering machine. This technology is typically being used when not all components are available in SMT form and therefore mixed assembly is required, or with large components, high voltages/currents and small volume series.
